On the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Washington Post op.ed. page featured one of the most moving and well-deserved tributes to those who perform the often thankless tasks associated with protecting this nation.

Written by the father of a corporal in the United States Marine Corps, a writer from a Volvo-driving, often elitist stratum of the Massachusetts North Shore, the essay deserves to be read over every table in America this Thanksgiving and carried thereafter in the hearts of every one of our countrymen.

The Center for Security Policy again thanks the men and women of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, as well as the countless civilian workers in the defense, security and intelligence community, for devoting their lives to the defense of our great country.
