New 9/11 report: Is someone covering for state sponsors of terror?

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Rumors are swirling around Washington that the joint congressional report on intelligence failures before and after 9/11 was redacted to cover up the role of a foreign government in the terrorist attacks.

The culprit: Saudi Arabia. More specifically, certain elements within the Wahhabi family-run regime. And possibly, Saudi businessmen with ties to American politicians of both political parties.

That has people wondering whether somebody in the administration imposed national security classifications on information that had nothing to do with protecting sources and methods, or even diplomatic relations, and everything to do with a political coverup.

Political operatives in this administration are known to meddle in national security issues for pure political gain, and some say that key decisionmaking is of late more prone to political vetting. If this is not the case, the White House must quash the growing speculation. If it is the case, the meddling and manipulation has to stop – now.
