Obama Has Seeded the Gathering Storm

Winston Churchill called the volume of his memoirs that recounted the years leading up to World War II The Gathering Storm. Barack Obama is presiding over – and greatly contributing to – a similar period of intensifying danger in the geostrategic environment. We may soon confront another, horrific conflict.

Look no further than Iraq, where the consequences of President Obama’s rash decision to remove all U.S. forces – and, thereby “end the war” – are now evident for all to see.

A terrorist army calling itself the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham, or ISIS, has within a few weeks seized a third of the country.

Oil prices are spiking. Refugees are multiplying. And jihadists are on the march.

Obama has seeded the clouds of war and a new, violent storm is gathering, indeed.
