The Senate’s Infuriating Endorsement of Obama’s Amnesty

Washington politicos are once again furious with Senator Ted Cruz. Once again, he has stood up for the Constitution and the public’s expectation that their elected officials would protect our Republic against a president bent on “fundamentally transforming” it.

That was the unmistakable message from voters in the last election concerning Barack Obama’s clearly unconstitutional plan to give amnesty to millions of illegal aliens by executive fiat, and without Congress’ approval.

Yet, when Senator Cruz asked the Senate to vote on whether President Obama had acted constitutionally, twenty Republican senators joined all the Democrats in saying he had.

Anger is warranted, all right. But it should be directed at those who are enabling the mutation, and ultimately the destruction, of our Constitution, not the leader of those trying to prevent it: Ted Cruz.
