Across the Northeastern United States, life has come to a standstill as a result of Super Storm Juno. In due course, those affected will dig out and get back to everyday activities.

Last Sunday, a similar paralysis befell about 140 million Pakistanis as jihadists there attacked a main electric power line. As the electricity has been restored, life has returned to normal.

But, what if large parts of this country faced a long-term disruption of the power grid? The frightening reality is that one could be caused by a jihadist attack here or the space weather equivalent of Juno.

Tens of millions of us would perish and America as we know it cease to exist. Fortunately, we can prevent such a man-caused or naturally occurring disaster and must begin doing so at once.
