One of the most important symbols, and enablers, of 21st Century America is our Internet. Innovation, free enterprise and the nation have benefited enormously from what has been a bipartisan consensus that subjected the “Net” to minimal official regulation and interference. Until now.

Unfortunately, last year, President Obama declared the Internet should be treated as a public utility, subject to extensive control by government regulators. Most of his appointees on the Federal Communications Commission seem disposed shortly to implement Mr. Obama’s dictate.

Worse yet, dissenting past and present FCC commissioners are warning that doing so would play into the hands of hostile powers and international bureaucrats anxious to wrest control from us over the Internet.

If you wondered what havoc Barack Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of the United States would entail, look no further.
