Barack Obama will extend his losing streak in foreign affairs with this weekend’s Summit of the Americas in Panama. He is compounding in our own hemisphere his disastrous record of appeasement elsewhere.

First, he is removing Cuba from the list of state-sponsors of terrorism as a further concession to the Castro brothers – whose regime has extensive and ongoing ties to the world’s terrorists.

Next, he will try to placate another terror-sponsoring state, Venezuela, by denying that it represents a threat to U.S. national security. Never mind that he formally attested to that reality just a few weeks ago in imposing sanctions on seven of its leaders.

Under President Obama, America is neither feared nor respected by its adversaries. And that can only make the world a more dangerous place.
