First, Team Obama made women eligible to serve in combat – including, apparently, against their will. Now, the stage is now being set for America’s women to be compelled to serve in the armed forces.

Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush and Chris Christie said in last weekend’s presidential debate in New Hampshire that they supported the idea of drafting women. As none of the three fared well in that state’s primary yesterday, they evidently were not helped by that stance.

One of our country’s greatest heroes, retired Lieutenant General Jerry Boykin, has just launched a petition drive urging the presidential candidates to repudiate the idea of conscripting women.

All citizens should be encouraged to serve their country in some way. But women shouldn’t be forced to be in the U.S. military, especially in combat positions.
