Rex Tillerson to Fight – Not Embrace – the Muslim Brotherhood

Candidate Donald Trump promised to change dramatically the direction of U.S. policy towards what he called “radical Islamic terrorism.” In the course of the campaign, Mr. Trump noted that its animating force, the toxic ideology called Sharia, is incompatible with our Constitution and values.

Now, Secretary of State-designate Rex Tillerson has recognized officially a reality long ignored by the Obama administration: the Muslim Brotherhood is part of the problem – not part of the solution – regarding Sharia’s adherents’ efforts to dominate the entire world.

Mr. Tillerson testified during his confirmation hearing yesterday that the Muslim Brotherhood is “an agent for radical Islam like al-Qaeda…and certain elements within Iran.” That means the Brotherhood must no longer be allowed to operate with impunity in this country, engaging in stealthy, infrastructure-building, radicalization and influence operations for over fifty years.
