Did Schumer Invite Spies to Subvert Trump Team?
Before Donald Trump’s inauguration, Senator Chuck Schumer declared, “You take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday to get back at you.”
Presumably, he meant that as warning. It may, however, have been taken as an invitation.
Certainly, ever since, the media has been awash with reports of actions by unnamed “former and present intelligence officers” that sure look like they’re getting back at Donald Trump.
Take today’s Wall Street Journal report that “spies” are withholding classified information from the President lest it be compromised. Although officially denied, this claim is as ironic as it is insidious.
After all, it comes at a time when state secrets – and even the sensitive and perishable means by which they are obtained – are being compromised practically daily by officials trying to neutralize or subvert Mr. Trump and his subordinates. This must stop.
