Will the Democrats be the Disloyal Opposition?
This weekend, the Democratic Party will select its next chairman. The choice will determine not only who will lead what has traditionally been the “Loyal Opposition.” It will also determine if that characterization will still be accurate.
Four decades ago, I had the privilege of working for a great Democratic Senator, Henry “Scoop” Jackson. He epitomized a party that once led the fight against totalitarian ideologies and strove to defend our country against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
If the next Democratic National Committee chairman is Minnesota Congressman Keith Ellison, the party will be led by a Muslim Brotherhood-tied radical leftist. If Obama Labor Secretary Tom Perez is chosen, Democrats will be led by a radical leftist who has enabled the Muslim Brotherhood’s penetration and subversion of our government.
Either way, Scoop Jackson would be horrified. The American people will be, too.
