You Lie about Iran’s Nukes

Five years ago, Representative Joe Wilson challenged falsehoods President Obama was spewing before a Joint Session of Congress by shouting “You lie.” That didn’t happen in the House chamber during last night’s State of the Union address, but presidential mendacity was much in evidence.

Notably, Mr. Obama claimed that, “We’ve halted the progress of [Iran’s] nuclear program and reduced its stockpile of nuclear material.”

In fact, under the deal he is negotiating, the mullahs are continuing to enrich uranium, continuing to build the infrastructure to produce more of it and continuing to develop reactors and centrifuges that will be used to amass a substantial and threatening nuclear arsenal.

And that’s just the parts of Iran’s nuclear weapons program we know about. Its unacknowledged covert activities make the President’s lie even more outlandish, and dangerous.
