The majority of U.S. Senators have just voted again to make themselves irrelevant. The last time, it was by giving President Obama a bill that eviscerates the Senate’s constitutional treaty-making responsibility regarding Iran’s nukes.

This time, it’s by agreeing to reduce the Senate to a rubber-stamp with respect to so-called “trade deals” that effectively will further mutate our Constitution. The final Senate vote on the “Fast-Track” authority that would have that effect is expected shortly.

If Congress goes along, it will most immediately have to take-it-or-leave-it on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, with its 20-plus sections unrelated to trade.

That means international mechanisms, not our accountable representatives, will henceforth dictate our policies on immigration, the environment, intellectual property, etc.

The House must derail Fast-Track.
