A Tale of Two Disastrous Deals
There are troubling similarities between the negotiations Team Obama has been conducting with Iran and those it has engaged in with Cuba: In both cases, the United States seemingly has made all the concessions. In both cases, longtime enemies are being rewarded with our political legitimation and economic life-support.
The Obama administration justifies such capitulations by observing that Tehran and Havana have engaged in malevolent behavior despite our efforts to isolate them. But how much worse would their behavior have been without those restrictions in place?
We’re about to find out. The deal cut recently with Cuba and the one expected shortly with Iran will provide the wherewithal for unprecedented aggression by both countries and embolden their regimes to engage in it. Tell your representatives to put a stop to these deals now.
