World leaders meet in Paris today promising their countries’ adherence to an arbitrary, scientifically dubious “cap” on global warming. For his part, President Obama will commit us to economy-disrupting greenhouse gas reductions and transferring many billions of dollars from American taxpayers to the Third World.

Fortunately, the U.S. Senate took bipartisan initiatives last week intended to show Obama and his foreign interlocutors that Congress opposes these cockamamie initiatives. The House of Representatives is expected to do the same shortly.

But President Obama says he won’t submit the Paris agreement to congressional review and that he’ll veto legislation critical of it.

Congress must nonetheless try to spare us the double-whammy of traumatizing America’s economy and unaccountably redistributing vast wealth from this country to developing nations by cutting off funding for whatever climate change gambit Obama agrees to in Paris.
