Restore the Rule of Law
Barack Obama promised to “fundamentally transform” America. One manifestation of that policy has been the erosion of public confidence in the rule of law.
The Obama administration serially refused to enforce federal statutes. Some, like Hillary Clinton, were treated as though different rules applied to them. And the President personally governed in ways he admitted were unconstitutional.
The message was unmistakable: The rule of law is no longer operative.
The resulting contempt for America may be contributing to the present controversy over some NFL players’ dissing symbols of our country. The League’s refusal to enforce its own rules calling for disciplinary action for disrespect of the national anthem and flag is encouraging similar sentiments among fans.
If America is to remain a place where disagreements can be fairly settled and the country’s promise fully realized, the rule of law must be restored.
