This is Frank Gaffney with the Secure Freedom Minute.

Members of Congress yesterday took some of the most important testimony since Republicans came to power.  It was all the more remarkable because the evidence concerning a far-reaching and portentous scandal was taken with no thanks to the GOP leadership.

In fact, the event was arranged by Reps. Louie Gohmert, Scott Perry, Jim Jordan and Ron DeSantis to conduct the kind of oversight Speaker Paul Ryan has, to this point, prevented.  These legislators were, therefore, obliged to interview witnesses the way Democrats often do: informally and outside of the committees that are supposed to perform such work, even though all four of them are subcommittee chairmen.

Consequently, the American people are finally being read-in on the potentially grave implications of dozens of Democratic lawmakers relying on Pakistani nationals for information technology services. It’s a good start, but must not end there.

This is Frank Gaffney.
