McMaster Aligns with Trump’s Agenda, Too Little, Too Late
Candidate Trump won the White House, in part, on a platform of defeating “radical Islamic terrorism.” It called for not only naming this threat, but for understanding its wellspring in an ideology called Sharia, stopping more of its adherents from coming here and countering their networks radicalizing in our communities.
Much of the blame for there being little progress on these fronts lies with the President’s National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster. He has not just opposed this agenda. He has sabotaged it.
Yesterday, though, Gen. McMaster indicated that a new national security strategy will recognize a reality he previously rejected – namely, we do confront a radical Islamic ideology. But, he insists that we can work with some of its Muslim Brotherhood practitioners.
H.R. McMaster has wasted a precious year of Donald Trump’s presidency. He must not be allowed to do so any further.
