For those of us who have long admired the Federal Bureau of Investigation and understand its important role in protecting national security and public safety, yesterday was a red letter one.

First, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe was finally forced to resign.  He epitomized the politicization of the Bureau’s senior management that has hampered its performance under former Directors Robert Mueller and James Comey and undermined the American people’s confidence in the organization.

Second, the House Intelligence Committee voted to release a memo that exposes apparently politically motivated domestic surveillance and other malfeasance on the part of FBI officials on Andy McCabe’s watch.

Unsurprisingly, Democrats who have been the principal beneficiaries of such politicization for years now are complaining that these efforts to end it are themselves exercises in partisanship.

Get the facts out, and let the American people decide.
