President Trump Puts American Sovereignty First at the UN

In yesterday’s commentary, I gave Donald Trump some advice about his remarks before the United Nations that harkened back to a time when Americans profanely encouraged a previous president, Harry Truman, to give such adversaries, well, let’s just say, a piece of his mind.  While I apologize to listeners who took offense, I am grateful that’s precisely what Mr. Trump did in his inimitable way.

Notably, he told the UN: “America will always choose independence and cooperation over global governance, control, and domination. I honor the right of every nation in this room to pursue its own customs, beliefs, and traditions. The United States will not tell you how to live or work or worship. We only ask that you honor our sovereignty in return.”

Thank you, President Trump, for putting America’s sovereignty first, at the UN and every day.
