ZOA is right, Lob is wrong for the Conference of Presidents

Mort Klein is the President of the Zionist Organization of America, the most robust Jewish advocacy group in the country. His parents survived the Holocaust and he became a tireless opponent of anti-Semitism and defender of America, Israel and their bilateral relationship.

Mr. Klein consequently rightly opposes the nomination of Dianne Lob to chair the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations. She formerly chaired HIAS, a group that used to help resettle Jews in the United States. Under Ms. Lob’s leadership, however, HIAS became preoccupied with making money on government contracts by resettling mostly unassimilable Muslims here.

Were Dianne Lob actually to get the job, she’d surely promote the hard Left’s efforts simultaneously to dominate and vilify American Jews, while currying favor with Sharia-supremacist Muslims and their fellow travelers. That would be terrible for the Conference of Presidents, for Israel and for America.

It’s no accident, comrade

“It’s no accident, Comrade” is a traditional Communist response when something bad happens – meaning, the regime in question caused it. One has to wonder whether that explains recent, ominous developments that accrue to the benefit of the Chinese Communist Party.

Consider Hong Kong. For over a year, mass demonstrations proved that widespread popular opposition to the repressive Communist regime in Beijing would not surrender to its threats or actual coercion. Suddenly, the CCP virus ended such public gatherings. And now fifteen of their leaders have been arrested, presaging more crackdowns.

Then, in March, several Taiwanese naval vessels visited Palau, an island without COVID-19. Suddenly, members of their crews were diagnosed with the disease, sidelining their vessels, just as Chinese threats to Taiwan intensify. The USS Theodore Roosevelt was similarly stricken after a port call in Vietnam last month.

Are all these accidents, Comrades?

The CCP’s bio weapons program is no ‘conspiracy theory’

Efforts to dismiss credible people like Senator Tom Cotton as “conspiracy theorists” remind me of former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy’s observation that, “Every conspiracy begins with a conspiracy theory.”

Sen. Cotton has warned for weeks that the Chinese Communist Party conspired to conceal the true provenance of its virus and the pandemic it spawned. That’s no longer a “theory.” It’s a fact. So, apparently, is the conclusion that the CCP virus came out of a laboratory in Wuhan, not some nearby “wet market.”

Now, the so-called “smart people” insist that the virus that came from the PRC lab was not engineered to be a biological weapon. We’ll see. What’s no conspiracy theory is that the Chinese Communists have an illegal biological warfare program and that they have learned much about its utility from the damage the CCP virus has done to America.

Don’t reward China for the CCP virus

A lot of Americans whose lives, families, financial prospects and futures have been severely impacted by the Chinese Communist Party virus want to punish the perpetrators. There’s talk about ways in which to make China’s dictator and his government pay for the damage they have done.

So, it is simply unbelievable that an unaccountable federal board is beavering away at what would amount to a huge reward for Xi Jinping’s Communist regime. The Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board is poised to invest  billions of dollars of U.S. government employees’ pension funds in CCP companies.

Eleven influential veterans have urged the Joint Chiefs of Staff to recommend that President Trump stop this travesty – made all the more outrageous as it would compel military personnel to invest in Chinese corporations that make weapons designed to kill them.

Phyllis Schlafly lives!

Phyllis Schlafly was a national treasure. For decades, she epitomized and spoke for American women – and for that matter, American men – who love this country, who truly support equal opportunities for all and who refuse to submit to the anti-American political agenda and nostrums of the Left.

Needless to say, Mrs. Schlafly’s courage, skill and tenacity in standing up for – and often securing the triumph of – our country’s traditional values and vital interests made her anathema to feminists, Communists and their many admirers in the media. Now, four years after her death, they are seeking revenge.

Actress Cate Blanchett has reportedly done a hatchet job mini-series aimed at sullying Phyllis’ reputation and overcoming her best-known achievement – the defeat of the so-called Equal Rights Amendment. Fortunately, it won’t work. The ERA is dead. And my friend, the great Phyllis Schlafly, lives on.

Jihadist threats persist – and are growing – in a time of pandemic

A recent report by British intelligence reminds us that – while we may not be interested in jihadist terrorism in a time of COVID-19 and a growing awareness of the larger threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party that brought us this pandemic – Sharia-supremacists are still interested in us, in the worst sort of way.

According to the Times of London, Britain’s internal security service, MI5, has just nearly doubled to 43,000 the number of potential terrorist operatives it has to worry about. That’s concerning for the Brits, of course. But it should be a warning to us, too.

As thousands of American convicts are being freed lest they get sick while imprisoned, we need to know: How many of them became jihadists in jail? Due to aggressive Muslim Brotherhood recruitment in our prisons, the answer surely is not none – and that’s a problem.

Beware Susan Thornton and her toxic ‘clientitis’

Foreign Service Officers often exhibit symptoms of “clientitis” – pathologically promoting the interests of some foreign government, rather than their own.

Susan Thornton is a case in point. As a diplomat, she tirelessly flacked for the Chinese Communist Party. When that behavior finally got her fired from a senior State Department job in 2018, Thornton continued in that role outside of government, most recently penning an op.ed. entitled, “Fears of a Global Chinese Takeover are Greatly Exaggerated.”

In fact, China’s dictator-for-life, Xi Jinping, has made no secret of his ambitions to dominate the world. His party’s behavior regarding the Chinese pandemic attests to its determination to weaken the United States and other nations. And his military build-up and colonial empire-building are creating the capability to exploit such weakness.

Shame on those, like Susan Thornton, who would have us believe otherwise – and know better.

Sanders, communism and the free world’s future

The departure of Sen. Bernie Sanders from the 2020 presidential race is a good opportunity to reflect on his principal contribution to contemporary American politics.  In short, he drove the Democratic Party into the far-reaches of the radical left – the nether world of socialism and Communism.

A powerful reminder of what becomes of societies that fall for the seductiveness of “free stuff” and “revolution” can be found in the 2017 film, “The Death of Stalin.” It portrays in darkly comedic terms the horrors of totalitarianism and the odious people who inevitably ruthlessly run such repressive systems.

The next American Commander-in-Chief will have to confront the successor to Stalin’s Soviet Union, the People’s Republic of China. While we can thank heavens he won’t be Bernie Sanders, we must make sure now that the eventual winner actually recognizes the Chinese Communist threat.

Rare earths made in America

Donald Trump has long warned American companies to stop manufacturing in China. Unfortunately, his commonsense alarms about depending upon unreliable supply chains largely fell on deaf ears.

The Chinese Communist Party virus, however, has made what was necessary now imperative. The fact that we are dependent on the perpetrators of this pandemic for medicine and personal protective equipment has impacted – and outraged – all of us. Now, President Trump and his team are finally getting help from lots of ingenious and patriotic entrepreneurs committed to made-in-America.

A case in point is USA Rare Earth, Inc. which is developing Round Top Mountain in Texas to help meet our national need for advanced electronics, batteries and weaponry. With Round Top’s help, America will enable the world to defeat Communist China’s efforts to monopolize and manipulate such precious metals – to our detriment and possibly mortal peril.

Henry Kissinger – A profile of betrayal

It’s hard to overstate the damage Henry Kissinger has done over his decades spent in and out of government, defining and promoting policies that have weakened our country and emboldened its enemies. Ever since his time in the Nixon and Ford administrations, Kissinger has relentlessly championed appeasement of America’s Communist foes, from the Soviet Union to North Vietnam to the People’s Republic of China.

Finally, someone has called him out.

On Monday, President Trump’s former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon denounced the ex-Secretary of State, charging, “The world is going to stand in judgment of you. Because you are just as bad as the devils. In fact, you are worse because you didn’t even believe in the ideology. You believed in the money.”

Kissinger’s Communist chickens are finally coming home to roost. Unfortunately for him, they’re infected with COVID-19.
